FAQs

Q: I work on a project basis and only need drone insurance during projects. Do you provide short-term cover?

A: You can select from the following policy periods
– 12 months (365 days)
– 18 months (547 days)
– 6 months (182 days)
– 3 months (91 days)

You can now also choose a “Custom” policy period but the duration must be 3 months or more.

Q: On top of my drones and payloads, can I also insure ancillary equipment and spares such as my ground station, gimbal and batteries?

A: Yes. You can insure your ancillary equipment used in the operation of the drone (including ground station, laptop, tablets and safety equipment) and spares (including lenses, gimbals, batteries and blades).

Q: I am looking for drone insurance for leisure flights. Do you provide cover for recreational users?

A: We can currently insure Drones, Operators and Pilots for commercial and business use. We may be able to insure some recreational drone users but this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Email us at acorn.contact@acornint.com and we will get in touch with you.

Q: In addition to covering my drones and liability to third parties, can I cover my liability to drone pilots?

A: Yes, you can choose to include several Additional Covers, one of which is your liability to Insured Drone Pilots.

Q: I have custom-made drones. What do I indicate as the serial number?

A: The standard practice for all custom-made drones registered in Singapore is to use the CAAS drone identification number as the serial number, specifically the Registration ID that can be found beneath the CAAS logo, and above the QR code.

For custom-made drones, use the CAAS Registration ID as the serial number.
